Yes there are a lot less now. Still not completely free of any bubbles at all but in keeping from what I've gathered from other threads. I did notice a bit of wear on the fuel hose that feeds the housing, I've literally just come back from the breakers with a replacement from a 406 with a priming bulb attached! Will take a bit of fettling to get it connected as there is no push fit connector on the other end that connected to the hose the goes to the fuel tank. I'm struggling to get anyone to answer my questions so have ordered a new injector to replace the one the wet glow plug came out of.

what a great thread eethon
thanks for all the info' it's a shame more people didn't reply
I've only just stumbled upon this thread as I'm having similar problems myself

I know it's a bit late now but hope to hear how you got on soon

the only thing I can add is when priming the fuel system, you need to connect your primer pump to the return pipe....from memory that is the one to the immediate rear of the filter housing with a green, plastic connector and running back towards the driver's/timing belt side of the engine

Air bubbles in v50 2.0D transparent fuel lines that you can see on the top of the engine are supposed to be there. This is normal.

Default Lack of power/white smoke /stalling

Hi all
I seem to have same problem/problems. It started when the v50 2.0 diesel 54 plate broke down on motorway doing 70mpg. I had it towed home and I took the air pipe off the front of the engine not the one connected to the Maf. It started under duress but very rough and I noticed lots of carbon built up on inside where throttle body is. So I cleaned as much as I could get to, removed Egr valve which was also a bit clogged up and the disc inside the Egr had come off so I also glued this back on the shaft. I also replaced the two vacuum pumps Maf and all sensors around the throttle body as they were very carbonised up. After all this the car started fine and run very well plus I now notice the turbo working!! I then decided to have it terra cleaned which would remove or at least help clean what I couldn't reach. After all this the car worked like new and as u have probably guess already there is a but. All ok for about 9 days of driving then it seemed to go into limp mode with no power and no acceleration. It seemed to act like a dpf problem but it doesn't have a dpf. So I am now thinking it could be a cat problem or oxygen sensor. For it to be running perfectly one minute then not the next doesn't seem to me to be a big issue but just a sensor I have missed.
Would love to hear from anyone with ideas on this very frustrating problem. I have tried to read codes but my reader surprise surprise doesn't work on volvos!! Any idea???
