Hi all. Just returned to 200's after a short (very!) visit to the (wet) world of 480's.
Just bought a mint 240 GL Estate. 147,000 with a service every 6000. Have a problem starting first thing daily. Engine turns no problem but will not catch without using a bit of throttle & normally dies 2 or 3 three times before settling. After this it is fine.Have just changed the dizzy cap & replaced the plugs with Volvo's own & it is still the same. I did not change the rotor as my local main dealer does not stock the arm fitted to my model. I did give it a damn good clean though. The rotor arm is a 'fat' one which presumably means I have a rev limiter in the system? It is a 1989 fuel injected 1986cc pre cat - B200E - I think? Could it be that the leads need to go as well? All ideas gratefully received. Thanks. Paul.C VOC member. |

Fuel injected? Cold start injector, then.
(I am only repeating something I was told, though, could be a load of 'pone'!) All the best, Nick H. |
