Default 2004 V50 Strange starting problems

Good evening,

I currently own a V50 T5 -04 (Automatic), and tonight it decided to start having some strange starter issues. Whenever I hop into the car and go to start it, everything lights up as it should, but the car does not turn over. Only after 3-5 attempts, cycling from "Stage 0" to "Stage 3" on the key does it turn over like nothing ever happened.

We have tried giving it starting aid in case that would be related, which it wasn't. I have also tested both of my two key fobs, with nothing changing there.

Since I'm in Finland and it's Winter, the climate is colder, and I'd love if it would just be a connector that's slightly displaced or thereby like it. But I do welcome any and all ideas. Not sure if any OBD codes should be expected, but there aren't any either.

Thanks in advance!

Update: The starter is, more or less, ruled out (we think). We have started looking at replacements but it made me wonder if the starters for Gen 1-2 V70's could be the same? At which point do they become different?

Update 2: We have seriously started suspecting it's the ignition "ring", and not at all the starter, since when it happened today it got fixed by "shaking" the key in-place. Which I'm not sure should be seen as "better" or "worse".
