240 General: - 240 bumpers

Due to a bump i now have to get a new front bumper ,no 240's anywhere around here unfortunately but there is a 740 in a scrappies (so i'v been told) is a 740 bumper (the metal parts) the same as a 240 .
mines fine but one of the "shocks" base plate has bent and i cannot get it the right angle to go back in the car attached to the bumper ,the metal is so thick bashing it has no effect.
in essence i'm after a shock or a better still a complete bumper as the bending of the mounting plate bent the ali bumper under them,thanks

Is Redhill near enough to you? Thats cos I'm (slowly) getting round to clearing some 240 estates - some drive, two don't. However, all have bumpers....

Will be there tomorrow so can check on conditions. Would ideally like to sell complete cars, but must face reality and consider scrapping if/when it comes to it. As a ps to one lister (you know who you are), the auto you wanted is reserved for you as and when!

yes its not to far away ,will be a little time though now i'v done the bonnet the rest of the front is out for restoration

would you consider posting an offside one ,pm me the price if you are willing please .
they are surprisingly easy to remove but ofcourse now i have removed my bumper the damaged one refuses to line back up again to go back in even with a 4lb hammer so the cars bumperless at the moment

got the shock absorber but with a straight shock and a bent bumper it looks even worse ,does the ali part of a 740 bumper fit the 240 ? thanks

Pop over here Chesters, I'll take you to a 'goldmine' of 240's! Was there just yesterday sorting my 850 with a 'new' in tank fuel pump! Virgos, dog guards, tail lamps, beige leather, the list go's on...... drooling yet?
