Whatever brand of ACEA A3/B4 5W or 10W40 that you prefer. I like Mobil1's Super range, or Fuchs Titan.

Just as above. 5w40 or 10w40 A3/B4 from a main big brand of your choice is all you need.
Just make sure it is A3/B4 (and preferably in conjunction with API SL as opposed to SM/SN/SN+ though this isn't quite the end of the world).

I've got a couple of 4 litre containers of Castrol GTX on the shelf. They are 10w40 A3/B4 but are marked as part synthetic. That would appear to match your description but are not full synthetic. Are the codes the same for full synth? It would seem unlikely.

Both 5W40 and 10W40 viscosities meeting ACEA A3/B4 specs are available in fully synthetic or part synthetic grades. Not sure what about that seems unlikely.

A3/B4 is 'Petrol/Diesel extended drain high hths' in a nutshell, though there are many performance requirements to be met too.
A semi or fully can meet spec, but that doesn't mean they are equal.
Also bear in mind that most 'fully synthetic' are essentially a 'super refined semi' in that they are still made from a mineral oil origin but even further refined or even deconstructed and reconstructed to some degree at molecular level.
