Default 1988 240 2.3 GLT Auto with LPG / Pinking issues?

Hi guys,
Ive bought back my old 240 with firm intentions of actually keeping her as a daily (marriage dependant!!)

The cars had 2 owners since I last had her 4/5 months back, its in slightly worse nic externally than before, slightly better internally... Front seats have vanished into boot, and a set of identical color alfa sport seats have taken their place... very soft and comfy.

As far as I can see the a partial service has been carried out, guys ratchet broke after changing 1st spark plug so 3 more to do. But last owner reports its pinking which i dont remember it doing before... Was always sluggish up hills under load, but i expected nothing different.. What could be causing this?

The LPG Was overhauled but ive no idea the make or model, i know it wont run on gas at idle, drives fine otherwise on gas during a journey, shudders a bit on the changeover.

Ideas guys.... and as always

Pleasure being back in volvoland!!

Could you put some photos up showing the LPG system and I should be able to work out what you have there.

Vapouriser is the OMVL R90e - I notice it has a vacuum connection on the front of it. Where does that small bore pipe go to?

The solenoid is Lovato

It does sound like it needs the mixture settings adjusting. For idle there are two screws on the side of the vapouriser, one is a bleed valve and the other is idle control. The idle control one normally has a spring on it. If stalling at idle that suggests lean so opening the idle screw a bit should help.

Default Update 1

Ive check round the bay looking for wear and tear items to replace..
The rotor arm and cap are stinking... I filed down the contacts and its improved the responsiveness.

The noise the last owner was describing ive realised is the same noise thats been with the car since I 1st got her few years back.
Under acceleration at any speed, theres a reciprocating metallic noise. Dont think its Pinking/Pinging as I last remember a moggy doing it years back was quite loud and obvious...

What could be vibrating under accelation in the bay
