c70 2.0t coupe
Hi all, I'm looking at getting a new car (prefferably a coupe) and have been thinking about getting another volvo. Whats your opinion on the c70 2.0t coupe (manual)? I'm 6ft+ and most of my family and friends are tall too, like a good comfy seat and a car with a decent amount of power and handling. Does the car have any mechanical issues or reliability problems and what layout are they, am guessing front wheel drive? Any other usefull information I need to know?
Thanks people. |

Test drive a T5 before making your decision.
Full volvo service history always helps. yes front wheel drive. No major mechanicals spring to mind but im sure others will add. Keith... |

I have a 2.5 20v....you may find the 2lt a little under powered....go for one with more bhp than the 2.0lt...much better

I was concerned that the larger engine may be to much power to the front wheels but will look into it as you've suggested.

I'd say if you want something that is easy on the front tyres then buy anything but the T5. |

I agree with Volvophile, my two litre turbo auto (s60) is anything but underpowered, sure, its no match for a T5 but slow it aint. I looked at several C7O before i bought my S60 but could not find one at a dealers (never had the cash to buy private) that suited my budget, which is a shame as i think they are one of volvos most gorgeous creations, still im now very, very happy with my S60 which is more car and newer that the C70 that i looked at for less money.

There has been suggestion that the 2.0 has ecu problems and reliability is better with the larger engines. There is a 2.5t near me at a dealers so going to go for a look see to get an idea of the car.

go for the T5 otherwise youll always wish you had.
engines are pretty much bulletproof only thing to look out for is that the later engines VVT ones 1999 0nwards have ETM issues luckily my later c70 has been good so far

Like you I went out with the intention to buy a C70 but couldn't find one in my price range at a franchise dealer so got the S60 instead. Don't regret it for a second though |
