Aluminium intercooler needs modification
For sale is a 50mm thick aluminium intercooler for an air con equipped 940 made by Torque Motorsport supplied by speedingparts in Sweden.
It cost me £263 with Vat, postage and import fees. I tried fitting it but it had tags at the top (like the bottom ones that sit in the rubber brackets) which I have cut off as they hit the slam panel (I will tidy these up as I just cut them off roughly with an angle grinder to get it in the car). One of the pipe outlets (driver's side) is touching the radiator so it ideally would need the outlet cutting off and welding on about 5mm away from the radiator. The end tanks also touch the slam panel, I was going to grind this away and then weld a plate over the new hole to clear. The top flange should bolt to the radiator but the flange is at the wrong angle and there's no flange to bolt the AC condenser to the intercooler. I don't need this intercooler anymore as I have bought a DO88 one instead. It is painted black but has scratches from where I've tried to fit it (really the radiator needs to come out to fit it) so it doesn't have a lovely black paint job anymore. £110 posted My mate cut his slam panel open and bent it out at both end tanks then welded it back up to clear the radiator and slam panel then just cut the top flange off completely so it can also be done like this but I didn't fancy messing around in winter to fit it. |
