Iphone permissions for text messages

Have all the various permissions ticked on the car, but it's telling me that text messages are disabled - so I assume there's something that needs ticking on the phone as well. Can't find anything obvious online anywhere - any ideas where in the iphone settings it is?

I think its 'show notifications' in the bluetooth menu.

That's ticked in mine for Sensus, but not any other vehicles and its the only one that picks the messages up.

That's it - connect to the car, look in BT menu, then tap the blue "i" in a circle. Then allow notifications.

No doubt Apple will do their usual and delete the feature in a future update!

Actually nope - just tried to do a hands free message and the voice said "this device does not support messages". So back to the start...

It works on carplay ok.

Seems Apple will allow receipt but not sending using MAP. But you can via Carplay.

So that's a reason to have carplay, eh?

I cant send, not that I can work out anyway, XC60 doesnt have car play option.
