1800S airbox for twin SU
Hello all
I am new to this forum and I am looking for a specific part for my 1968 1800S with B20B-engine. The SU-carbs are now fitted with the well known blue air filters. As the exhaust is right under there I would like to replace them with a genuine air box, in order to let fresh air in from the front of the car. This airbox has Volvo PN 683719 + the lid 681607. It was often mounted to 140-models equipped with twin SU's. There is also a model for twin Stromberg, but these have different mounting holes. Should anyone in this community have a complete airbox available for SU-carbs, I would love to buy it. |

It would be best if you post this in the Wants section of the Amazon/1800 section. It is the first one in the Technical section. Your filters are correct and if you have the deflector plate between the carbs and the exhaust you should have no problems. Yes the140 filter box can be adapted but it does need a few mods. Good luck getting all of the parts. The thermostatically controlled box that routes warm air from the exhaust area might be hard to find.

I would be glad with a basic airbox, no thermo-control needed. The heat protection is already in place, but still the surrounding air under the bonnet is very hot. That's why I'd prefer a cold air box. Thx |
