Default Is £499 for a 47,000 mile 740 saloon too much?

Ok guys, i'm pondering whether or not to sell my 740GL saloon, due to my insurance going up next year and needing to save up for my Oz. trip...

Please look at the photos in the album on my profile,

It has the B200E engine with K-Jet injection system, theres no dents or scratches on the bodywork, i've done quite a bit of work to her also, including tyres, its sitting on 2 x firestones and 2 x pirelli p2000's all with 6-7mm of tread on them, sitting on aires alloys, i have 4 other good tyres on steel wheels i could throw in with the car if i sell it, these also have 7-8mm of tread on them also.

Its had a recent cambelt done (2 months ago)
New water pump gaskets and rear brake pads, shims and anti rattle clips,
New horn,
Recent air filter
Recent new rear window fitted (tempered glass, and heated)
New spark plugs, (bosch super 4)
New coolant
Heater Matrix + Radiator flushed
Flametrap cleaned
Throttle body cleaned

It has been washed and hand wax several times by myself, and the underbody has been scrubbed and waxoyled (undersealed) also any tiny spots of rust have been filed away and reprimed with rust killer, then sealed and painted.

Engine bay and boot space under carpet is undersealed also, for protection.
Spare wheel is a 15'' Alloy (volvo one)

Engine returns around 23-25mpg in the city, and around 30-32 on the motorway.

Starts everytime hot or cold, no smoke, no misfires, no rattles, ALL interior extra work pretty much like the day it was made.

10 months MOT left.

Bad points: ONLY ADVISORY - Antiroll bar bushes splitting/cracking (the anti roll linkage bar bushes, the chassis (horseshoe shaped ones) are fine, all though i have those bushes i just ordered (i can't fit them).

Passenger side floor has rust holes in it (see pictures) they are filled in and repaired with fibreglass resin and metal mesh, then painted, then sealed using underbody seal. Doesnt leak water.

Could be an easy job for a welder to repair.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Would £499 be asking too much for my car?

I mean, the car only has 47,000 miles on the engine and gear box, so even if someone wanted the engine, its still a great buy wouldnt it?

I'm giving it some thought...

Are you selling? In which case this is the wrong forum.

Or looking for advise? In which case "It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it". But there have been some silly prices for cars recently!!

I'm not selling it as of yet, i'm just seeing what kind of interest would be attracted for a saloon that has had most of the biggies serviced, if i were to sell it, i'm still pondering whether or not to sell it as of yet... i might SORN it until i have enough heart + dosh to put it back on the road..
