Default v70 engine issues

hi need help with my 2002 v70 24t. firstly car does not idle smooth, never has since I've had it. it hunts at tick over suspect idle control valve. don't know whether this is related to the issue I've recently had. driving home the other night from work the car just lost all revs and the throttle would not respond! it went to idle and wouldn't rev up. then after coasting for a short distance it came back to life again. also a couple of mornings its had immobiliser see manual on the dash. any advice would be appreciated

thanks

Ideally you need to get any codes read from the car.
I think your ETM would be the 1st port of call here. Whip it off, quick clean up and back on with new gasket can rectify idle speed hunting. If you search this forum for ETM problems you'll find loads of posts.

As the post previous, I'd look at the ETM also. Having had exactly the same symptoms you are describing on my prior S80, I spent an afternoon with a few tools and some carbon cleaner, removed the ETM and gave it a good clean up.

Search the forums, there's some good posts on how to do this.
