To recap ordered 30th October last year and collected today. Longest I’ve ever had to wait for a car but so far it’s been worth it.

Looks great, hope you are pleased.
My only gripe is that plastic covered steering wheel which i detest with a passion so is booked in for a leather re trim next month.

Looks the business! Not Seen an R-Design Pro in your colour and got to say looks really nice!

Well mine is being final prepeed today for pick up tomorrow morning! Cant' wait now especially seeing as you now have yours.

Thanks and good luck for tomorrow! Have to say the colour is awesome in the sunlight.

I had about an hour and half with the product specialist talking me through everything (can't remember any of it) and setting up my phone, the app and the wifi hotspot.

Make sure you ask about the data card as it wasn't until I did that he said "Oh... I've got one in my desk you can have." I pretty sure if I hadn't of asked I wouldn't have got it (100mb for 1 year).

Do you NEED a data card? Or can you use your phone as a hotspot and achieve the same thing?

My intent - when mine eventually arrives - is to connect the car to the house WiFi whilst the car is on the drive/charging, and then use my phone as a hotspot when out and about. (Phone hotspot will have the same SSID and password so the car should connect when it loses the house WiFi signal). I expect this to work but it would be good if someone could confirm.

My understanding is that this would work when near your phone/wifi, but if your car is out and about, and you want to pre heat/pre cool after leaving it for a period of time it won't be able to do that.
Pre-cool and pre-heat is a very nice thing - especially to cool the cabin on a hot sunny day. For the price of a small sim card for the year I think it's worth it!

The On Call (Volvo Cars App) works through a separate integral SIM anyway that doesn't need "installing" or setting up (other than the Dealer setup of the On Call system itself), so you don't need it to be able to remote start the car - The Sim or tethering a phone is for using the Apps in the car and live traffic.
