Default Engine Mountings

Hello all,

Delving in the bowels of the engine bay yesterday - nothing wrong, just having a bit of a clean, and spotted something that looks a little odd to me.
Could someone out there please confirm, or otherwise, that on a RHD 240 the large rubber mounting goes on the Driver's side, and the small rubber mounting on the Passenger side?

I have the strangest feeling some twonk has changed them on mine at some time, and put them on the opposite sides to that described, so almost half of the large mounting protrudes some way beyond the back of the ally casting that it's bolted up to.

All replies are very welcome.

Thanking you all for your time, etc.

The engine mounts are handed, they only fit one way. The larger mount takes more weight due to angle of engine. Hope this clarifies.

Hi,

You are quite right of course - it's just me thinking the left side one looks kind of displaced.

Had a proper look today, even measured up to be sure, and it's right as rain.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest anyway.

The large one should go on the passenger side (left) due to the rotational direction of the engine. Nothing to do with angles?!

no they don't as the large one doesn't have the offset pins for the passenger side mountings.

speaking of which i need to get some better ones soon before i snap another passenger side mount.

You're right, the engine rotates the other way. Sorry.
