2016MY V40 T2 R Design - Tuning Kit
Hi, my name's Mark and I've just joined the forum
I recently got a V40 T2 R Design. It's the 2016 model year with a 1969cc (122bhp) engine. I'm looking at getting a piggyback tuning kit for it, and I've heard good reviews about the BlueSpark kit. Does anyone have any experience with this kit, or any alternative suggestions? The important thing to note is that this is a lease car. It's on a 48 month lease from Volvo, so the kit needs to be such that it can be removed and the car put back to 'factory' settings with ease when it comes to servicing and handing the car back at the end of the term. I understand the issues around fitting a kit to it, so I'm just after some suggestions from other V40 owners who have done it. Thanks Mark |

You will probably be aware, but a non approved tuning modification may void the warranty, and you will have to notify your insurer. Plus you have to get permission from the lease company for any modification, as the car belongs to them.

Thanks volvorocks - at the moment I'm just looking to gain some opinions and feedback from people who've installed either the BlueSpark kit or something similar before I take it any further

Polestar it or trade it in for a t4/t5 it's the only way if you want more performance

my experience on piggyback boxes on the ECU is do not touch them ... stay as far away and do not consider them. If you want to look after your vehicle and are deciding to keep it for a while ... get a custom proper remap done to your ECU or volvo's expensive polestar remap.
you could end up with things like your car constantly going into limp mode as its not direct to your ECU or over fueling etc Alot of reviews you find on these are either by the company themselves or by someone who has only tried it for a very short time.
