Unhappy Red Hot Wheel

Hello all, I have an X-reg V70 2.5 tdi. Yesterday whilst on the motorway, at 60mph I noticed a humming sound and slight vibration coming from the back, it disappeared when I went below 60mph, the car seemed to lack power, when I got to my destination I noticed a burning smell and the rear offside wheel was too hot to touch. Today I jacked the car up, spun the wheel and it didnt spin as freely as it should but it wasnt stuck either. Whilst doing the same journey earlier this evening, no vibrations or humming sound but the wheel was considerably warmer than the rear nearside wheel but not hot. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks and Regards, Rob

My S60 failed its MOT because of a sticky rear caliper.
Turns out the two sliders were covered in road muck/rust etc....

Maybe a sticking caliper but could also be lining come off a handbrake shoe.

Tale the disc off and look ASAP and repair before there is extensive damage.

See the handbrake woes thread:
