Knocking noise
Hi every one new owner of s60 t5 and love it
Just a couple of questions I have knocking noise coming from n/s front when going over bumps or pot hole Is this an easy fix When starting engine service light comes on and then goes off after 60secs It's just been serviced does it need resetting or is there something else wrong |

Masses of threads about front suspension problems ranging from drop links (easy) to slightly more tricky top mount replacement.
It is generally accepted the the order of suspension component failure is: wishbone bushes (front goes first) Trackrod ends Droplinks Bottom ball joints Strut top mounts. Having said that, I have replaced everything on both sides of my 2000 S80 with 170k on it except the track rod ends - these have never failed with me. Not sure what your mileage is currently but if around 150k, it may be better to go for a complete change of these components rather than as I did it; bit by bit. Use genuine parts and avoid scantech stuff like the plague. |
