The app then showed red air flow which to me would imply heating but the aux heater didn't start. Note that the app said it was 15C but the car's external sensor said 21C.

So, seems like there's two possibilities:
  • The new app version doesn't cater for the Aux Heater option. As I seem to be one of the few (only?) people with this option it wouldn't surprise me.
  • Or, when the climate system started it realised that the cabin temperature was >20C so didn't start the heater and just blew air through as it normally would. However this doesn't explain the red airflow.
I subsequently did it again but selected 'start car' and that worked. Perhaps this was to allow the aircon to run but with no indication on the app as to the actual status I'm not sure. Obviously I need it to be cooler to check if it will use the aux heater. I won't be happy if I lose the ability to remote start the heater.

Have any T8 owners noticed the aux heater running? I guess it's unlikely given the ambient summer temperatures.

I also noticed it's showing the car as silver rather than the Osmium Grey it actually is. It could be the default display colour but it also happens to be the colour of my first XC90. Perhaps just a coincidence.

I have the aux heater too in my '17 D5. I tested it today with the app. If you say you are leaving in 1 minute or something short, its asking me to start the engine. But if I say, leaving in 20 or 30 minutes, it is actually starting the aux heater, without starting the engine. So that functionality is not lost.

I used the parking climate last night while sat in a cold cark park. The aux heater in my T8 worked just fine and gave me 30 mins worth of warmth.

It was cold enough this morning for me to try the aux heater. I selected 'leave in 10 mins', said 'no' to starting the engine and the aux heater fired up.

@KNVXC90, good to know I'm not the only one.

Version 5.1.0 for iOS has appeared on my phone this morning. Given that v5.0.1 would often freeze completely for me every time I went back into the app, I had switched it back to the previous interface (which resolved the issue). I'll give the new interface another go now on v5.1.0.

Can't see any other differences and still can't find the function to clean the cabin air.

With VOC, can someone confirm if the scheduled charging works?

3 pin granny charger, hoping to plug it in at 8pm for example but only have the charging start when the night rate kicks in at midnight.

I've never seen an option for that in the app.

I'd be tempted to use a timer plug and use that.

Yes I use it, with a 3 pin too.

You need to be plugged in at the location. Save it as a charging location. Then you can select scheduled charging.

However. I couldn’t find this stuff on the updated app. So that’s why I reverted back to the previous version. Either it’s not there or I’m being dull. Both possible explanations.

Thanks for mentioning that. We've not long had our T8, and don't have low-rate electric so we've just been plugging it in when needed.

Nice to know it's possible though

same here. Not sure whether to wait and see if it comes back or try re-registering. Think I'll wait for now and see what happens.
