Default wanted pipes and clips 240 glt

hi

i have a 1990 240 glt B230K, just found my exhaust to air box hot air recirculation pipe (the flexi pipe that warms the air entering the engine when cold) split in 2 on my engine tray, not good. does anyone know of anyone or anywhere that would have one in reasonable nic? if possible im also after the two clips on the air box that hold it together. ive checked the usual routes, ebay, partsforvolvosonline, gsf etc

if it helps here are the part nos:
pipe 1276431
clips 1257376

thank you

Just for your information it's not a vital engine component. Quite a few people are missing or have removed themselves this pipe (myself included) and have seen no adverse effects.

try your volvo dealer they can order some , these hot air intake pipes DO make a big difference in winter with drivability after a cold start , you can push the choke in much sooner and will help fuel consumption .. The carburettor is calibrated for ambient air of 35 C so if you feed it with air at -5 C like this week , it wont be running as efficiently as it should ..

Sorry, Clan, but the GLT has FI, doesn't it? Would the airduct be so critical on an FI unit?

Yes the GLT is Fuel Injection but the warm air still helps in cold weather , but not as critial as the carb versions .. Not sure what Clive c above has , he says GLT ( injection ) with a B230K ( carb ) engine ...

hi this actually my car i was just using my dads login (clivec)

its a fuel injected 1990 glt, the pipe was so corroded it had split in 2. my fuel economy on shorter journeys (5-10miles) was rubbish because of this. Without the pipe, the engine also takes alot longer to warm up and because of this is starting to misfire and isnt doin the engine much good. ive duct taped the pipe back together and also taped it to the box. The other problem is that the air box clips are worn and dont keep the box closed, hence the misfire as the mix is then very weak.
clan your right about the cold weather, no problem when its 5 degrees +

im hopin when it warms up after the snow it'll sort itself out, in the meanwhile im lookin for a replacement pipe. This is my first winter with the 240 and ive bin blown away by how good it is in the snow and ice, im only 19. Ive bin passing stuck 40k bmws, mercs and those fancy 4x4s they really dont look impressed
