Default Footwell and boot lights

Hi all,

Neither the footwell nor boot lights have worked since I've had the car. Got some nice LED festoons recently and attempted to replace the existing bulbs.

Replaced it in the footwell, but still nothing (tried turning the light around too).

Moved on to the boot anyway, replaced and also nothing. Whilst trying to fit the unit back I brushed some metal on metal which caused a few sparks to fly. Put the old bulb back in and carefully inserted successfully without sparks.

Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? Sparks would suggest it isn't a fuse issue. Perhaps just bad luck with the two LED festoons I tried?

dry connection maybe! i fitted led's myself the other day and although the standad bulbs did work one of the led's didnt apear to be working fitted it again and hey presto it works, but you could try cleaning the area where the bulbs fit to make a good contact also unplug the light unit and make sure the spade connections are clean.

Yup, did try that. I was in a bit of a hurry, so I'll give it another go next chance I get.
