XC 90 Transmission fluid type.

I am going to change my transmission fluid in my 2012 XC90 AWD, my haynes manual tells me jws 3309 which i have used on my earlier xc90 and xc70. Checking online i find it says on 6 speed transmission use jws 3324. Can anyone confirm please.

JWSS3324, known as AW-1.

If your car was built before July 2012, it will say the transmission fluid required is JWS3309 in the owner's manual. If it was built after July 2012, it will say JWS3324.

However, if you rang the dealership and asked them for a fluid change (if they'd do it), they would put JWS3324 in it.

Other Volvo models changed to the JWS3324 fluid long before the XC90 did.
