Default Listen to V8 Exhaust notes and bodykit Q

Hi All,

Great to find a Volvo forum, I'm only on my second, part of the crowd that is appreciating Volvos' new styling direction starting with my first beloved '06 S40. I bought my current S80 V8 upon hearing it being started.. foolish but it turned out to be a good choice!

I was reading a recent post on body kits for the S80 and was wondering if anyone has managed to dig anything else up? I have seen an amazing kit on a new shape S80 the other day, but saw no badges etc...

Heico's body kit is pretty dull by comparison (the one I saw looked amazing and still classy). Their quad exhaust note is very cool though:

(check http://www.heicosportiv.de/mainframe.asp?lang=en&e1=482 out).

The standard V8 sounds amazing (they have captured the sound very well), but after hearing theirs..... drooool. Sadly I don't think much of the look of them in comparison to the standard twin oval exhausts.

I tried to find AMT Tuning, but they seem to have shut down. Any other ideas??? I have been searching for months and would appreciate any comments.

cheers
Peter

(P.S. Here's my baby, sorry for poor pic but I haven't taken any others!)

Default S80 v8.

As far as I know there are no bodywork add ons for the current S80 other than those that you have already found from Heico.

I have been looking into a complete replacement exhaust system for the V8 as it will, if properly executed, add maybe 25bhp and sound however you wish. I am sure that we can liberate some more output by some manipulation of the software, but not being a forced induction engine we should not be too ambitious.

I have a supplier of bespoke exhaust systems not too far from you with whom I have talked over just such a project.

If you are interested please call me on 020 8959 3230.

Best regards, Don.

luvMyV8, if you want to tune it then have a look at the RICA web site because they've had the V8 ECU upgrade available since May last year, which gives an extra 30 bhp and 40 nm.

Default thanks

Thanks for your responses, I'll be in touch about the exhaust, definitely want to increase the bass a little!

Amazing info on the ECU, I've tried to find something on their website before, that sounds excellent..

thanks again
