That is correct. No wiring in a 91 car. Think it's 95 on that are prewired

My understanding is also that the '95 MY onwards were pre-wired. In fact they were pre-wired for a lot of options - my '96 MY was pre-wired for the rear parcel shelf speakers for example, which was very helpful !

American EBay is a good source for that.

That's where I got mine from.

It's prewired on my Celebration, but where does it go to in the engine bay?My sensor used to hang down beside the radiator, until the radiator was replaced. Now I can't see it.Can someone please follow the wire back from the sensor? Is there a connector block that may have been disconnected?
I really would love to know.
Thanks in advance,

Hi 940volvoman, yes its pre-wired from the 1995 model year IIRC. You need the display with the WHITE connector to fit the 940. There is an identical display with a black connector that fits the 960 - AFAIK they are not interchangeable unless you rewire the sockets (and I don't have a wiring diagram for that).

The sensor should fit into a socket in the lower plastic grill -

The wiring connector is tucked away either behind the bumper or in the corner where the battery tray is.

Thanks for that,Rolling Thunder.

My cable was obvious before the radiator was replaced, now I cant find it.

If you follow the cable back from the sensor where does it go? There are quite a few wires around the battery(obviously) and I'm not sure which one is which.

Is it in a sleeve of some kind?

Thanks again

I'll be under the car this weekend hopefully, so I'll take a look for you then - the pic above isn't mine, just one I found on the internet. I need to find my own cable to fit my temperature sensor
