1998 v70r awd clutch
Hi guys.
Been away a long time but back now with a v70r, t5 awd! It's been parked up for about 10 yrs so its a rolling refresh. Have just done all the brakes and took it for it's first spin. All is good apart from some clutch slip when we come onto boost so I would assume that's why it was parked up all those years ago! Looking online there's a few clutches, how do I know which one I need to order or is it a strip it down job and then see? Thanks in advance. |

Howdy and welcome back!
On Skandix it's showing as 272314 but you may wish to enter your VIN to confirm your engine/gearbox or give Lyons of Limerick as buzz with the VIN, if only to obtain the correct part number and price, and then price up a SACHS kit at the motor factors Nice motor! Is it black by any chance? If so I very nearly bought it two years ago but my heart hankers for an 850R.

Hi!
Perfect will call them in the morning and go from there. Yup it's black!!! A friend bought it 2 years ago but didn't get around to doing it and has a few projects on the go, so when it was offered... How can I say no!!! Had the 850 t5 saloon many years ago, and always always wanted the estate!!! |

The sachs wont last anywhere near as long as the genuine Vovo spec clutch, you get what you pay for and you don't want to be doing that job again for at least 20 years :-)

You're welcome JT! Handy website indeed. So too is Volvo's Genuine Classic Parts site.
Agreed! And the genuine part is offen, not always, competitively priced against aftermarket so always worth contacting the main dealer for a price first. As you say, Clan, genuine all the way where appropriate, especially on an AWD R.
