940 starting
Hi, sorry to ask the same questions, but my 95 940 2.3 lpt won’t start without a squirt of throttle.
When it starts it idles and runs well, just that few seconds on starting is the problem. The car often “chugs” for a few seconds until it settles down. I just want to know what parts of the fuel and electrics govern that starting point. It has a new iacv, fpr, radio suppression relay, in-tank pump, pump relay, plugs, leads and ignition module. Thanks. |

If the idle is a bit low just after starting the usual cause is a dirty throttle body. It takes a few seconds to adjust and it doesn't remember.
Otherwise could be a bad head gasket, have you tried a compression test? |

Make sure the throttle body is clean, and throttle position switch is set correctly, all the vacuum lines are good/stubs on manifold are clear.
You changed the plugs etc is the dizzy cap and rotor good as well?
