That is a very smart motor car JJ, well done.

it is nothing to do with me of course, but I'd be very concerned about those very wide wheels and tyres not really being safe.

This has been a very interesting project.

:-)

You deserve much credit - this looks like a nice motor car now.

The safety issue: exactly the same as I had commented previously - the chance of the body touching a tyre doing 70 MPH through lack of clearance, that is all.

Excellent project thread.

Yeah defo no chance of that (for a start it only does about 65 haha)

The rusty arches are getting shaped soon when I get back from my hollibobs to be moved for even a big speed hump

It’s an occasional use car for cruising town

Anything Over 20 miles the EV comes out

Been on my hollibobs and got covid

I’ve not got much else to do tbh

Just bits

Need to stop the headlamp wipers dropping below the lens

It’s running warm and I think rich (linked) so been asking around how to reduce the fuelling - anyone got any ideas??

Washing it takes 4 hours haha

Plus I’ve been clearing my garden and building my RC cars

So been having a few “overheating” issues in this warm weather - normally after a short run (normal temps) then a pootle back and it goes up close to the red

mix this with my 20mpg - I think I’m running rich or the timing is out

Can’t get the dizzy to move atm as it’s corroded to the block so putting some penetrating fluid on it from time to time.

But when I am flooring it on the dual carriageway it’s perfectly normal

And this Evening only rose a little once I came off the 70mph into the side roads

Thoughts?

Also - one of my brand new tyres got a puncture - big nail in it - too close to side wall to fix (typical)

So new tyre

But I had ordered a £20 TPMS for the car (I have one on all my cars and over the years they’ve come down in price)

You get used to the small mushroom on your valve stem and the slight yuk is offset totally by knowing your tyre pressured

Fits lovely just here…..

The headlamp lenses should have an extra long Plastic tipped clip (in addition to the 8 that hold the glass lens on) that protrudes out from the bottom of the headlight.

The wipers come to rest on said protrusion and are prevented from dropping off the bottom of the lens.

Easily forgotten in a headlamp rebuild, or possibly long rusted away.
