Default 68 Plate V60 - Issues

Just picked up a V60 from a non Volvo dealer and have a few things not working and trying to resolve without going and forking out £150 on Volvo Main Dealer Diagnostics....

Stop Start not working
Keyless / comfort entry not working
Boot entry not working but switch activates and gives three beeps
Dash occasionally comes up with key not detected

Car is ultra low mileage with 5500 miles on at 4.5 years old.

But its now had several long drives so I'd have expect any battery issues to have been charged up...

Are there any fuses etc in with the battery in the boot or a battery reset process I can follow?

opened the panel in the back wheel arch and thats some complicated battery to try and swap out......

Any Tips or swallow the fact its £150 and get the seller to pay out for what Volvo find....

whoever sold it to you should be sorting your problems out, they are responsible for six months what ever deal you made.

The battery is probably sulphated with the lack of use. No amount of driving will fix this. You have a good chance of rejuvenating it by taking it out the car, using a DC power supply set to 15.2v and limited to 5 amps and leave it on for 48 hours day and night. Then put it back on and give it a try. if you get the same problem get a new Volvo battery. They are quite competitively priced.

Yep already thrown the faults at them to sort!

But forewarned is forearmed when having discussions!

Popped a meter on battery tonight showing 12.4v and see other posts saying should be 12.7v so be a case of working out which battery wants replaced and might as well try and do the key fob upgrade at the same time.......

Key fob batteries in my experience (across multiple makes/types of car) - normal click to unlock the batteries can last a couple of year, but the keyless system where you put your hand behind the handle and it unlocks using a sensor - those can need new batteries in as little as 9 months.

It's only a CR2032 coin though and cheap to change - get a decent brand (Renata or Maxell - Duracell doesn't seem to work very well).

Your start stop battery is kippered by the sounds of it though - they need regular long journeys to keep them working well - with a very low mileage it'll have been flat for several years and salted up - this is separate to the main starter battery which is in the boot behind the left hand trim panel.

yes 12.4v is typical of a sulphated battery from lack of use, it can be fixed as above. "working out which battery wants to be replaced" ?
