Default Beginnings of window motor failure?

Drivers window starting to misbehave slightly, press down and you get a slight twitch from the motor (audibly) but not window movement

hold up, same noise, hold down again, it moves as it should

then sometimes the same in reverse when trying to close it

but usually, for the rest of journey all is ok

anyone experienced similar? seems to me the button is ok as it does try to move. should I be scouring ebay for a new motor do we think

have yet to try cleaning out the runners and checking the plastic bits inside haven't started bending or anything.. tbc
