I was chatting to a guy who was telling me the really big Liebherr mobile cranes get 1.5 to 4 mpg

Would you like to rephrase that? What GPM is more like it!

I know in Australia they use the 35C16 in the dump trucks for mining and i think they get about 4mpg tops on a good day but they use a different method of measuring consumption as for a start they only have litres of fuel there.

There's an engine in there somewhere!
Those mining trucks in Australia, I say truck loosely as they're gigantic!

This creation is very interesting too

I think it is in the Guinness book of world records as the only engine that doesn't fit in the engine bay of a 7/900 series Volvo.

You wouldn't get that Cat engine in a Volvo either! It's a tight fit in a 10ft wide shipping container!

Talking of shipping, that one you linked to as fitted to container ships is awesomely huge!

I have a number of questions that I'd like to be answered.

1) Did you have to upgrade brakes and/or springs and dampers?

2) Will it come out/go back in with the bonnet at the vertical?

3) Does the car handle differently with this engine?

4) Will an M90 box fit on the back without an adaptor plate?

5) Would I have to tell my insurance company/the DVLA about the "mod"?

6) Could I instead fit an EMD 645-20E lump in its place?
