Help? Replacement fuel tank brackets
So one of my tank straps has failed - quick roadside repair with a ratchet strap.
I know not ideal but got us home... The hard part is finding a new pair as the other one is in pretty bad condition. Local volvo dealer can only source one not a pair - trawled the internet but no joy. None in my local scrap yard, beside they are all sitting hard on the ground with the wheels off, I can imagine they are in pretty bad condidtion. Anyone else had the same problem or any clever ideas to get me safely back on the road. There's still life in the old girl yet - just replaced the belts as there is no way I'm buying another car with prices the way they are. Thanks for your help in advance. Cheers Scott |

Update:- FRF Vovlo only have the LHS @ £50 2-4wk lead time.
However there is no sign of the RHS - Part Number 30871193 No further forward other than to make my own? Look after your tank straps.....? |

If all else fails, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to make those straps ?

Probabably not - just some flat steel - had toyed with the idea of 100mm galvanized banding, but would have to get it right tight.
Cheers again. |

Is the band they use to fix wooden roof beams not a solution? You can find it in different sizes ,bend it by hand and the lenght is adapteble while every 2 cm there is a hole to fix it. If you think it is not strong enough, double it. I would slide it in a insulation so it will stay away from moisture.
