Underwhelmed would be an understatement. A point release for this?

Not a point release. It’s 2.0! Also, the major thing here is a complete change to the underlying OS code base. We’re now on AAOS 11 (or release R in other nomenclature) from the old, buggy, and not fit for purpose AAOS 10. This is a major step in the right direction…

Major not point release I meant 🤦
Great that Android is bumped (though massive brickage possibilities..), but it’s features and UI work which is needed. |

Do you think this update will also improve Google Maps navigation route planning? To navigate from current position to point B is easy. I can use keyboard to do it. But in case you need to insert one or more waypoints it is not possible to use the keyboard for that, but only voice assistant. In the countries like the Czechia voice assistant is useless (no Czech language for Google assistant). If I go from France through Germany to Poland every time I need to add waypoint in the specific country I have to change the language of the assistant - German for the Germany, Dutch for Netherlands etc. And what is also important, you have to use proper pronunciation or smartphone to properly tell the navigation the waypoint address/name. Very "funny and fast" procedure. I have V90 T6 Recharge (MY 2022 late) and for long trips, it is necessary to use smart navigation (Google Maps navigation) for better and efficient use of fuel/el. power. It works quite well. However, better route planning would be welcomed.

AAOS 11 is a decent upgrade and certainly allows more changes and expansion. Possible enhancements are in the link - https://source.android.com/devices/a...tart/r_release The detail is up to Volvo. |

What age vehicles is this for? If for “new” only then is Android R a retrofit?
