This pride and joy hit ebay a few weeks ago at £3500
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1992-Volv...-127635-2958-0
One MOT fail later and they appear to be a bit keener to shift it for more realistic money.

Probably stinks of coffee.

Not a great deal wrong with it in terms of getting back on the road. Interested by the major defect for no Cat, I'm sure it wasn't a requirement in 1992 to have one anyway?

If emission control system originally fitted but absent, that's a fail.
Put a new cat on and it might even pass emissions?

Otherwise the usual knackered brakes and electrics, and that paint job, which should be an MOT fail but inexplicably isn't...

Banger racing might be the honourable end.

It looks like the motor car sold for £750.

Apart from the black paint job, there seemed nothing really major wrong with it. Hope it's restored.

James.

This was/is a local car to me, I liked to see another 240 driving about, even if i wanted to give him some of my spare wheels to replace those ugly buggers. At a guess at that price I'd say it's going round the ring. I hope not, but Angmering is just round the corner, and yeah i bet it stunk of coffee....and exhaust.

So apart from needing a 3 grand respray, mhundreds on an exhaust, hundreds on a new screen, and hundreds combined on all the rest of the itty bitty faults, theres nothing wrong with it!

And that's only the stuff we know about. What other delights await discovery after a period of ownership from someone that would do that to a car?

You could buy a straight one with decent paint for less than it would cost to rectify that mess. Indeed, I just have!

Mine was less, not by much though.

Anyway, you trying to keep up? I thought I was bad, but you only just got the V70, at least I waited nearly 2 years before I convinced the good lady I needed another Volvo..
