I have used the dealers in France several times, especially when my XC60 went into 'limp mode' on my way to catch a ship back to the UK.
No complaints regarding the service and attention received.

Anyway least of my problems now as I've just got a message saying srs airbag fault drive straight to a dealer. .. and I'm in middle of france. Great. Should have bought a Mercedes.
I had that SRS airbag warning just a couple of weeks after getting the car brand new last year. It went away again before my dealer could see it and has popped up once or twice since, only to go away again pretty quickly.

Nothing has ever been diagnosed or fixed, so probably not too much to worry about.

Yes it does, but usually if you use it in conjunction with using the car or actioning the instructions in the car, it makes sense.

Just half an hour ago I returned from the dealer having seen the new XC60. Reading the price list just now, that does mention a lever adjustment for the LED active headlights, so that confuses me even more.

Well that was a palaver. My nearest dealer in France is an hour away and it would have been closed before I got there. .plus we're coming home tomorrow. So I called my home dealer who gave me a number for volvo assist over here. They passed me on to the aa who passed me to volvo assist uk who passed me to volvo assist somewhere else who said a man was travelling down from England and would pop in to see us! Turns out he would be too late. And then as you said the warning disappeared. At least I now have a number to call for help when I am here again :-)

Just had a reply from Volvo UK:-
Confirm that your vehicle could be fitted with either of the following 3 headlamps.
1. Halogen
2. Led
3. Led with active bending
If your vehicle is fitted with either type 1 or 2 then no adjustment will be needed when travelling to Europe.
If you have type 3 then this can be adjusted in your my car system, settings > lights and lighting > Temporary Right Hand Traffic.

Trust this helps anyone with the same issue (although I'm not filled with confidence, as you can't get an XC90 with halogen headlights in the UK)

On the XC90, that is what is in my manual and my previous understanding even if it is counterintuitive. However, the new XC60 manual does suggest that option 2. the LED lights, are fitted with a manual lever to convert. Perhaps I misread it?

Default Headlight conversion for driving in France

The manual with my car (basic spec Momentum without active bend lights) makes no reference to changing to temporary LHD setting
Maybe that the manual only refers to this when active bend lights are fitted?
Not sure I believe it - surely the dipped beam sets to the left (on RHD) which will dazzle when driving on the right?
Or is the LED setting so clever that it can detect oncoming traffic which would, in theory, be on the wrong side of the road.

They are set up in such a way as not to dazzle, flatter beam and they are not set to the left but more of high or lower between high and dipped beam.

Well the car went in today for the door realignment, suspension check and a check of the sensor alarm... which turned out to be a faulty sidebag sensor. And they confirmed there was no adjustment needed for the headlamps abroad.

However in practice although the beam is flatter than a halogen one, there is a small kick up on the left and I did indeed get flashed a couple of times....

The rear doors are now absolutely perfect. And the suspension is apparently in spec although visibly low at the back. Really pleased with the support from the dealer...

You may have been getting flashed because your car is riding low at back resulting in the lights shining higher.
