Or, as has been stated, do LED headlights automatically convert to LHD?
Last thing I want is to get pulled over by the French police.
Thanks
This should be applicable to MY2018.

Only adaptive led lights require changing to temp RHD.

I'm in France now and can report that I have been flashed by oncoming cars. You can clearly see a kick up on the left hand side of the beam and there is no way of setting to lhd on non adaptive led headlights...

Did you try and pop the unit out and look for a lever on the back? This is how it works on most other Volvos....

I think you will find that LED headlights dip both sides at the same time and are anti-glare, so they don't need conversion. Certainly the Active Shaddow system fitted to some vehicles uses the camera sensor at the top of the windscreen to detect both oncoming and leading vehicles and dips only where they are sensed, so left or right dipping does not apply. It is capable of dipping everywhere or nowhere and in appropriate sections.

Yet, and yet, they do have a section that says that it is halogen headlamps that do not need to be adjusted and that LED's with adaptive functionality do. Search for "Adapting the beam pattern from the headlamps" in the manual.

Its quite confusing. Perhaps the LED's do need handing while it is the halogens that have the central dipping pattern? The LED lights certainly don't require the adjustment for 'handing' when the AUTO adaptive is functional, but of course at under 20mph and in street lit situations the full dip is done where active shadow adjustment is lost for a while. Also when manual dipping is done with the control stalk.

Edit
Having read the manual, the bit in bold at the top is mistaken. The following text is correct according to the manual.

You can forget that on the 90 series headlights. It just doesn't apply according to the operator's manual. No adjustment is necessary with Halogens which have central zone dipping. We don't yet get those in the UK and are unlikely to on 90 series, although they might make an appearance on entry level 60 series and smaller models at some point in the future.

The LED lights apparently do need adjustment whether they have active shadow automatic pattern dipping or not. These do appear to be handed when in full manual dip and in lit streets and under 20mph.

The adjustment is done through software and Sensus, not manually down the back of the quite inaccessible lamp clusters.

Quite possibly, but NickV90 said that he couldnt find anything in Sensus (in post #9) which does then not correspond with the manual. This is why I then suggested looking for a lever as a bit of a long shot. The manual does seem to, in more cases than just this one, raise more questions than it answers......

Default Call to dealer

A quick call to any Volvo dealer would surely give an answer to the question, please post answer when you have it.

You might think that but my dealer doesn't know.
Just checked again with and without engine running with and without lights on and no option for me... non adaptive led lights. Handbook says adjustment needed for adaptive and not for halogen but does not say anything about non adaptive led.

Anyway least of my problems now as I've just got a message saying srs airbag fault drive straight to a dealer. .. and I'm in middle of france. Great. Should have bought a Mercedes.
