Geartronic transmission fluid changed by local Volvo indie following advice on the forum. Drain, refill (Volvo part # 1161640), 'reset module', check for error codes (none reported), and road test.
I was already happy with the gearbox. The changes were perfectly acceptable for a 2008 car with 117k on the clock, but since the service the changes are super smooth.

New Aircon compressor and drive belt. Nice and cold, ready for the summer.

Painted a rear parking sensor.

Found a good fuse point for a live feed to a dash cam.

Jobs left to do.

1. Fix Audio issue. The amp has failed.
2. Windscreen leak. Volvo have said they will rebond free of charge. Just got to get out booked in.
3. Found there was a recall on the V70's seat belts. Book it in for that too.
4. Fit dash cam.

The following wasn't done today but in the last week.

Got the windscreen re-bonded. Original Volvo windscreen was kept.
Hardwired my dashcam to a spare switched fuse (number 5 under the glovebox).
Re-soldered the cable to the passenger footwell light.
Seat belt recall done.

1. Fix Audio issue. The amp has failed.
2. Good thorough clean and wax.

Default Caster angles

I went to have two new tyres fitted and the tracking checked and adjusted and therein lies my problem. My Caster angles when checked were 2°21' on the left and minus 3° 09' on the right!

Cleaned the engine bay. It looks like new.
Installed rear light mod. It looks great.

In the last week, I have been working with an electrical engineer to try and find the fault with the Premium Dynaudio Amp. No luck so far. I can't find a suitable replacement Amp anywhere.

Left to do.

1. Fix the Amp
2. Thorough clean and wax.

I replaced the front drop links on my XC70 with Meyle HD ones.
Also carried out a sump dump on the gearbox this morning.

had the experience of losing the aux belt, fortunately on the way for its 10yr service (so due to be replaced today) ... first the electrical failure warning , then shortly after that loss of all systems with the dash lighting up like a christmas tree then power steering ... bloody hell its heavy to steer!.
Made it to the garage but wierd stuff happening - NSR door (lock and window) not functioning but others OK, sunroof doing something different to the switch position, & in park, it saying put it in park....

Default Front grille VOLVO name badge

I replaced the front grille VOLVO name badge from the logo. Got damaged when cleaning the car and £7 on ebay got me a new one which fits perfectly and looks good. The worst part of the job is cleaning away the old self adhesive from the location on the logo. Otherwise it now looks like new.
