Nope, the car was empty in the photo. The ground was a bit higher on this side of the car, looks like theres more clearance on the other side.
But these cars always seem to look low, mine especially with the weight I put in it at work.... Phil |

Strange.
I can open the second file but not the first. When I try to open or save the first (1)it keeps telling me to log in (which I am). Tried this multiple times same result. Can you (anyone) please send me the file directly or within the forum? rekathome@gmail.com Thanks |

Nice one phil_r, I haven't thought about making a guide in pdf format, but looks ok.
I have ordered a front top strut mounts for my volvo, I will be making a guide next week or so. I might do it in pdf as well.

I am doing this job next week on my V40. I need to put some HD springs on as I tow and one is cracked anyway.
Before I do it a couple of questions for the gurus out there. 1. Does anything require torquing after refitting, and if so what is the setting. 2. If I replace the trailing arm bolts do they have to be OEM/specialist or can I get away with some out of my extensive nut and bolt supply? They will be new nuts and bolts, I am fortunate to have access to quite an extensive range

just read your v40 rear spring replacement guide, and want to thank you for great info. I'm planning to do my v40 rear springs soon and want to ask you if you needed some new bolt nuts when doing yours springs.I found info in haynes v40 manual that lower mounting bolt nut, upper mounting nuts and lower suspension arm-to-trailing arm bolt nut are required on refitting. Cheers adrian |
