wobbly timing belt pulley
Hi all,
So working my way through a D4204T engine swap on my V70 and get to sticking a new timing belt on and notice the belt pulley on the crankshaft is very wobbly - its sitting very loosely around the keyway and just slides on and off with ease. I've atatched a pic. I'm guessing the keyway is worn. Can these be replaced?! Not sure what my options are... Cheers |

Ah ok… thanks! I only noticed it because after I’d got the belt on and removed the timing pins I slowly cranked 1 rotation and heard a tapping noise after each compression - discovered that it was the pulley as it was snapping back against the keyway. Pulley on old engine had zero play so assumed that was how it should be. Surely it shouldn’t slide off easily though? I can pull it off with practically zero resistance. Although I suppose it can't come off with the big pulley bolted on in front.

turn crankshaft pully all the way to the left before installing the belt tensioner should return it to the center dont forget to use locktite if useing the old bolt if your kit has a new bolt it should have lock tite already on it dont for get to use the thick washer and torque to spec.
