2013 D5 High Oil Consumption

Hi folks, I'm experiencing high oil consumption on my 2013 XC70 D5 (99k miles), we're talking 1000-1200ml per 1k miles though it has been measured as wanting 800ml after 500 miles.
I have a used car warranty which runs out next month and I'm using an independent Volvo specialist so we'd like to get sorted ASAP.
My guy says he just doesn't see any excessive oil consumption issues come up on these engines and although it's largely within the Volvo "acceptable amount" there's something not right.
Unfortunately the consumption isn't a warranty claim in itself so we need to be finding the cause, at this stage we don't want to be tearing the engine down in case we find nothing.
The garages master tech is back on Wednesday so we're going to discuss where we go from here.
Just curious as to whether anyone else has had issues? I'm reading a few relating to the earlier D5s but not sure if they'd be applicable to my engine.
