Fitting active shutter grille from 2012 D3 to a 2011 D5

Good afternoon all,

Long story short (!): I bought an active shutter grill unit (part no 31323470) from a '12 D3 to fit to my '11 D5. Wired it up, started the engine and the shutters opened but don't do anything else (e.g. shutters should close when ignition off but don't) so I think I need the Active Grill Module (AGM) software downloaded to my car.

My question is will the dealer be able to download software linked to another chassis (I have the chassis no of the donor D3) to my car if he cannot find the correct software listed against my chassis no.?

ask at hallmark in stockport they have official vida subscription and can do this kind of thing . must be worth an ask...
