Large breasts here!
Hello guys,
Thought i'd get your attention - i have a problem and googling around the internet has not provided the answer. Earlier today I was trying to change the oil in my 2003 V40 1.9D (engine code D4192T3) and when i got to the sump plug i found that the plug was round with a hole in the centre that looked like the outside of a torx driver. When i tried to remove the plug it would not come out as the tool i was using wasn't the right one - my question is, what is the right tool to remove the plug on this engine? Renault forums are no help nor is google that i can see and i've asked the same question 10 different ways! Someone must know so lets make a thread where someone gives me the answer and i use my photobucket account to follow their advice and provide a pictorial guide for those that follow me and attempt the same thing and give up after several hours in exasperation! BTW - Whilst under the car i noticed lots of oil on the undertray so either the sump plug is under or overtight, needs to be sorted fairly quickly! Mods please don't ban me - i've seen several threads with a similar question asked and no-one responded so this may be the first guide for this work - lets make some history! |

This might help:

Here's an example of the tools you need:

It's an 8mm square drive. Motor factors stock them.
I had the same problem when I first changed the oil. |
