Default XC70 struts

Broke front offside spring prompted me to treat my 2005 XC70 to new front springs and struts by an independent garage. Wheel alignment specialists were unable to correct resulting negative camber - my findings are that 474772 struts have been fitted which I believe are the shorter struts for the V70 and not suitable for the XC70. As others on the forum have mentioned the length from the top plate to the centreline of the bottom bolt hole is critical to avoid negative camber that can not be adjusted out. The strut supplier disputes this and say they that the V70 struts are suitable. I have now sourced new XC70 struts with the critical 559mm length ( not the 529mm length of the V70 strut ) and will be fitting them myself which I would have done in the first place had the weather not been so bad. Can anyone give me help to convince the supplier they are wrong - I have withheld the major UK suppliers name for now.
