Default rough running at idle

Trying to find an suspected air leak I sprayed 'plus gas' around all the air hoses to see if there was a response to engine note When i sprayed it around the injector holders the engine started to run rough does anybody think the seals around the injectors need replacing or am i barking up the wrong tree?

What engine, how old and how well serviced?

The injector seals will harden with age and do need replacing.

Ok replaced seals and idling ok. although over the period of rough running the air/fuel mixture has been adjusted to compansate.

Incidently this motor has done only 81,000 miles and has been serviced by Volvo

The problem that i am finding is that i have a b200e cis system without any fancy computors or micro switches and there is obviously a relationship between the throttle valve setting and the idling screw, one which i am slowly finding by trial and error as although the engine is running fine when warm starting is rubbish and before you ask yes! i have checked the thermal switch, cold start injector air by-pass valve, fuel pressure, control pressure regulator, Timing, electrical connections, and for air leaks at least 3 times under different conditions. Im fed up with people saying look in the haynes manual 'cause it just 'aint there,

you may be worrying about your knuckles i'm in danger of loosing my SANITY
