Default R-Design Specs

Hello,

I wonder if anyone out there can help me.

I am looking to buy a Volvo V50 2.0D very soon and am particularly interested in the R-Design model, that is if I can find it in any colour other than black!

What is confusing me is the specs. There seem to be 4 specs out there:

R-Design
R-Design SE
R-Design Sport
R-Design SE Sport.

Now I think they dropped the sport bit, but I'm not sure. If they did can someone tell me the difference between the SE and non SE version?

Hope someone can help me

Thanks

Simon

Volvo originally used the spec names R-DESIGN Sport and R-DESIGN SE Sport. During 2009 they dropped the word ‘Sport’ and the specs are now sold as R-DESIGN and R-DESIGN SE. In 2010 Volvo have added the R-DESIGN Premium and R-DESIGN SE Premium.

Colours:

The base colours are: 612 Passion Red and 614 Ice White.
The metallic colours are: 426 Silver, 452 Black Sapphire and 479 Orinoco Blue.
The pearl colours are: 455 Titanium Grey, 466 Barents Blue, 476 Brilliant Blue and Gecko Green.
The Inscription colour is: 477 Electric Silver Coarse Flake.

Wheels:

R-DESIGN Sport and R-DESIGN: 17inch Seraphis Alloy Wheels with 205/50 R17 W Tyres
R-DESIGN SE Sport: 18inch Medusa Alloy Wheels with 215/34 R18 W Tyres
R-DESIGN SE: 18inch Midir Alloy Wheels with 215/34 R18 W Tyres

The R-DESIGN SE spec has the following additional equipment:

Water Repellent Side Windows – a coating on the front side windows
Rain Sensor – Automatic Windscreen Wiper Activation
Information Centre
Autodimming Rear View Mirror with Humidity Sensor and Compass
Grocery Bag Holder
Rear Waste Bag/Bottle Holder

The R-DESIGN Premium and R-DESIGN SE Premium include Sat Nav with Road Traffic Information.

Default One last question

Thanks for the reply, just one question, There are lots of Used R-Design and R-Design Sports, but not so many of the SE versions.

Is it worth holding out of an SE?

Thanks

Only you can answer that, how important are the extra's to you?

Don't discount the base R-Designs though, mine is a 2009 1.6D DRIVe so I could not order the R-Design SE, I ended up speccing it up to virtually SE spec when ordering.

I suspect that plenty of R-Designs out there that have also had extras added so it is worth checking. If it is the wheels you want from an SE you can add those easily yourself and sell the ones fitted to your car.
