240 SE Spares/Repair/Project
Last used November 2017 and been stood outside since. The reason I took it off the road was because of the low mileage I was doing didn't justify the tax and insurance costs. I've owned the car since July 2009 and travelled just over 2000 miles in that time - the mileage stands at 158482. It's always been a good starter and a joy to drive.
The inside is rough, an attempt was made to steal it which caused damage to the ignition lock area, and because the Pikeys couldn't get it going they smashed the windscreen. All 5 tyres need replacing, and there were advisories on the brake flexibles at the last 2 MOTs. The rear-facing seat has been removed. The radiator has a slight weep and there's the usual whiff of petrol at the rear end. Since I've owned it I've done the following work on it (* carried out by garage): fitted blade fuses for petrol pump rear exhaust box* RHS Steering rack gaiter* Delay timer on interior light Lights warning buzzer Brand new headlamp reflectors Rear damper gaiters Oil, filters, plugs (158385 miles) 1 plug lead is faulty *Welding near rear seatbelt mounts Fitted RDS radio from a Volvo 760 Replaced the radio aerial (from a Metro!) It comes with the original radio, Oil & air filters and a set of plugs and a rear anti-roll bar if the purchaser decides to fit non-levelling dampers. Situated in Sheffield (Walkley). It will need trailering, bring a battery and a gallon of petrol. It's for sale on here to an established member, if it doesn't sell it goes on Ebay, but I don't want it to get into the hands of the scrapman or banger-boys. Not sure about price, open to suggestions & offers, inspection welcome. |
