Default Build, shipping and delivery times?

So folks, I'm expecting my T8 RDesign at end of month for 1 March delivery.

For those of you that know and understand the build times and how long it takes to build, deliver it to port, put it on a boat and ship it to UK, and arrive at dealer; how long does this process take approx?

The portal says, if I'm to believe it, that it hasn't entered production. Dealer says its on schedule still. Should I be concerned on 9Feb that it hasn't entered production according to portal, and does this give it enough time to meet 1 March delivery or am I being fobbed-off by dealer?

Thanks
PF

Im no expert, but if it genuinely hasnt entered production yet then i would suggest your posting name is very appropriate for a 1st march delivery date.....

Hi
Mine is showing on "myvolvo" portal, 8 more weeks. Dealer confirmed to me yesterday production will be on the 9/3 and the car will be at the dealer on 25/3. So from production to dealership in about 2 weeks.

My understanding " myvolvo" portal gives a conservative estimate.
Hope this helpes

Just had my T8 R-Design delivered. It was manufactured 15-01 and was at the dealer on the 26th and picked up the 29th so about 10 days for shipment to the dealer. Myvolvo was actually spot on for manufacture and shipping but the delivery to the dealer never appeared and when I picked it up it went straight to picked up. So generally it appears to be a quick process.

My Volvo showed car as 3 weeks to end of production, when dealer called to say it had been delivered. Didn't appear to be an accurate source of information, always found that on a Sunday delivery would be brought forward one week, only to revert back on a Monday. Is useful to swat up on the 500+ page manual whilst awaiting delivery though!

Thank guys...so the portal is a bit like the lieometer providing the fuel range of my current car!

So...looks like it could still happen based on others' experiences if it's two weeks/15days etc. I have a friend who is also waiting for a T8 and his should have arrived in Nov/Dec and keeps being pushed back...now to the end of Feb.

Will keep you all posted...

Update: Despite the portal not giving any accurate info, I discovered yesterday that my car has already been built and it's about to be shipped, but according to the portal it hasn't started production yet. Stunning that organisations such as Volvo can let something that could add so much to the experience be so poorly executed! It is a useless system and and something that must have been a major investment for Volvo...what a waste.

So I now have a VIN and chassis number and car will be shipped shortly, so should be at the dealer and delivered as planned on 1st March.

One thing to be aware of is that the charging point grant (OLEV) discount ends on Monday...you need to have registered and made grant application.
