2.9ltr B230 in a 240
sounds crazy, but i have located the bits from Stan Parner in sweden for this mod. my 240 has lowered/stiffer suspension curtesy of IPD in the USA. new braking system, std volvo 200, 225/18/35 alloys. handling is a little frightening. now to the engine, 2.3ltr n/a fuel inj. head ported and polished; this made an immense improvement! exhaust s/s 4:2:1 headers into 3 inch pipe to rear muffler. now i am re-building this engine as a 2.9 ltr.
has anyone done anything like this before. any hints or advice would be gratefully recieved. PS. 0 to 60 time was around 7 secs before i removed the engine for this project! |

This is a new one on me I've heard of people stroking a B230xx to 2.5 litres but never more than than - I'm assuming you're thinking of a stroker kit?!
You might be better off asking the folk on turbobricks.com about this one - they're dedicated to serious engine mods, whereas this forum is really more about maintenance and more mundane modifications. Cheers,

yeah , Mr Parner will sort you out . 2.9 liter wont be that cheap - 2.5 litres are relatively easy to do , since its all std parts .
youll need a progammable unless youre going twin 48s/50s for a 2.9 i built grizs engine which is a 2.5 litre turbo 16v redblock

What about going for a turbo since you are increasing the displacement, a turbo would also make sense and make a lot more power.
