Default Pimp rims wanted!

If you don't ask you'll never know.
I've got Virgo's I like them but rears look lost with the stupid narrow track on rear of 240's.
I don't want fwd wheels with spacer. Offset looks gay anyways.
I'd like either banded steels or something old school with nice offset.
What you got? 14" to 16" pls.
Been looking at American wheels considering re-drilling.
Then realized what about the pressing round bolt hole.
Tho strangely Weller steels are completely flat at bolt hole.

Get some steel wheels you like and get them banded. That way you can choose what width you want.

I'd highly recommend you speak to Jim at Alonze Fabrication http://www.alonzecustom.co.uk/ He has just done me some banded steels for my Mk2 Escort. He also blasted them and sprayed them for me.

He does quite a lot for the VW boys and is really competitive on price.

May i ask what "competitive" is as i've hopefully got some 16" steels making their way to me in the next week or so, and will be looking into getting them banded.
Feel free to pm, cheers.

Thx Antz I keep stumbling on his work from Google.
Are they around 7"?
You've just reminded me I've got some mk2 wide steels and a couple of RS 2000 alloys kicking around in the garage. Cut slicks, intermediates, Michelin pilot wets etc.

I know backspace of a 240 is 4.25"
If you look at a Virgo the spokes are mounted on a raised section the rim isn't half close to brake caliper.
The US wheels I've got my eye on are 4" backspace.
I think I can live with a 0.25" spacer.
If they don't go over budget!

By banding I assume your widening the rims with extra bands ?

Yep thats the fella!
Common practice in oval racing and off roading.
Big in the dub scene.
There was a guy doing banding on eBay in Liverpool but he's not listing at present. Probably over-run welding wheels for people?

Mine were 370 for banding, blasting and spraying which I think is reasonable compared to other companies I've spoken to.

Plus he dresses the welds and pressure tests each wheel. Any width is the same price and as a bonus, he is only 5mins from my work so I could easily drop them off.

They are far better quality than my old banded steels I had done 6 years ago and they cost me the same price to have banded.

Those are 5inch wide wheels banded out to 6.25. Not much but enough to fill the arches without ruining the lips.

Got ya. Was gonna say 6".
My last few mk2 was arched up with 8" Weller 8 spokes.

I need to ring him before I lose another set.
I wanted to band the steels and change the centres.
Probably cost a small fortune?
I'd need to buy and post 2 sets of wheels!

Just noticed these have been pulled for a cash sale!
I hate that when you've asked if they have a buy it now price http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...obalID=EBAY-GB
