Just saw the latest replies, alraedy posted a Yippee......
As far as I can see VIDA allows one to move the vanes using the actuator and read the position but has no way to tell where the vanes are relative to where they ought to be. I took the turbo off and had it flow tested and calibrated and this has fixed the major problem... I suspect it may not be calibrated perfecty but Ill drive her for a few weeks and see how it performs, I know previously on a run to Dublin 160ml motorway with hills and dales.....I was able to average 7.5l per 100kms so I will know how it really is then. |

Fine i wasnt replying to you ,the balance part but soley to the limp mode of ts Why needling that vida cant fix an imbalanced turbo, while i never implied that Just callibrating the position of the vntmotor outside of the turbo The irony is that callibrating his vnt solved his faults according to another thread Last edited by 5cilinder; Aug 15th, 2016 at 22:44. |

Just to clarify.
Balance in the turbo was done by the suppliers of the cartridge so that was not an issue. The issue was that having replaced the original vanes in the original exhaust side and fitted the charge air side I managed to not align properly the actuator/linkage . it seems that this is not often referred to in forums and although I would have thought that my parts were reassembled as they originally had been there was obviously a problem....... |
