Ive just been told that my tyres are shot because of my bushes are perished is it likely that its just the front ones have past it, or the rear ones as well. Ive ordered a pair of front powerflex bushes, in the hope that its just the front ones, but a bit of reassuance from someone on here would be nice.

you need to inspect the bushes see if there perished and if there is any excess play, are you talking about the rear bush on the front control arm or the bushes on the rear wheels. On mine i am replacing the front control arm rear bush with a supaflex poly bush, easy to fit and in hindsight i would have paid the extra for the supaflex front bush as the powerflex was a pig to fit.

I changed both on mine and now my car feels brilliant steers better and the front end feels miles stiffer.
On the picture mukka posted mine only had the out metal bush after i burnt out the rubber bit so i'm not sure if ex cop cars wish bones are different I wouldnt have thought so.

looks like i had the uprated bushes, which prove to be just as useless as the others, what is it with volvo and there bushes shocking.
if the control arms are off the car i would change both sets of bushes will save you labour in the long run as the rears will go as well.

It seems that most people only mention fitting the front wishbone bush , is the rear one generally ok ?
