Default Driving habit reset?

Is my V70 capable of learning my driving habits and if so is there a way to return them to default settings please? Reason I'm asking is that recently the dashboard MPG has decreased slightly and the car seems to be holding on to the revs beyond the point at which it usually changes up. Generally I drive like a granny on local roads where it's pointless doing otherwise, though I'm happy to give it some welly if I need to scoot by a slower granny.

The transmission learns itself how to shift based on your driving style and conditions of the fluid. If its holding onto gears longer than it should, it might be time for a fluid change. That's a typical sign that the fluid is getting old/losing its properties. There's no way to reset it to "default" as such. The best way is change the fluid, reset the adaptions in VIDA and let it do its thing. Although, you don't have to reset the adaptions, as the car does it anyway. It just takes longer than it would if you reset them.

Has it had a transmission service recently? Has the car itself had a service recently, including fuel filter? A restricted fuel filter can affect fuel economy. Its probably worth changing the filter if it hasn't had one for a while.

Another thing that can be done is to make sure the car doesn't have any software updates available (only a main dealer can do that and there's a charge to do it). Being an older car, there's a chance that its already up-to-date if its had recent main dealer servicing within the past few years. If it hasn't seen a dealer since it was under warranty, so say since 2011 (it does happen), chances are the software could need updating.

How many miles on your 2008? Also, which engine -just out of curiosity.

As mentioned, a fluid refreshment can work wonders. I've experienced this improvement many times.
Do you work on vehicles at all yourself?

A 2008 might not have a serviceable petrol filter.
My 2007, a P2, has a steel tank. All I've read is that "steel tanks have the built-in filter".
So, after putting a sock on the fuel pick-up in the tank, thus eliminating a break in the fuel line for an external filter, I can't see any car company going back.

The car is a D5 diesel so will have a fuel filter at the rear of the car underneath.

Very easy to change

Thanks for your suggestions folks. The car is currently sitting at between 127k and128k miles. It had a full service including aux belt and all filters in May at my local independent Volvo specialist (Fishers of Gloucester) and only done between 1 and 2k miles since.
The transmission had a drain/refill in May '22, about 11k miles ago, so arguably reasonably up together as regards maintenance.
Software updates is another matter as it hasn't been near a main dealer in my ownership. Think I'll keep an eye on things for now and maybe have a chat with the guys who service it if it hasn't 'relearned' how I usually drive in a month or so.
